Edinburgh is absolutely worth a visit. It has been the capital of Scotland since the 15th century. The two distinct areas, the Old Town and the New Town, both are jointly listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Edinburgh Castle is the landmark that sits on top of the tallest hill above the Old Town. Armies were fought over it, royalty lived and died within the walls… all make for an important education about Scotland. Plan a trip to Scotland next summer (or coming winter?). Be prepared to be amazed.
